Here at Chesterfield Animal Rescue we are a registered charity founded in July 2012 by a team of animal lovers dedicated to saving the lives of as many animals as possible each year. We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, small animals, reptiles, chickens and ducks - we are frequently adding new animals to the list that we can help. We have years of experience with many different animals, from horses to snails. We work very closely with our vets to ensure the right care and treatment is given to every animal in our care, we stop at nothing to provide the best for them. We have a no-kill policy which means we will not euthanise an animal unless they are suffering and it would be cruel to prolong their life.
Our team have a number of qualifications in relation to animal care and training. We have completed various courses including 'Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation', 'Dog Training', 'Animal Care and Management', 'Animal First Aid and CPR' and many more. We have also completed Battersea Dogs and Cats Home programs including their 'Dog Welfare and Rehoming' Program.
We meet the minimum Welfare and Operational Standards from The Association of Dogs and Cats Homes and ensure that all of our animals are kept to the highest welfare standards possible, we are excitedly waiting for our official membership with them.
We rely on donations to continue saving lives, we are fundraising to buy our own centre, something that will enable us to help thousands more animals over the years. We are always looking for land to rent or buy, as well as a farm or house that we could rent or buy for a mini-centre.
We assess animals in our homes, we use foster homes where possible, and we use kennels in emergencies. We are always in need of more foster homes as well as kennel sponsors to help us save more lives.
